Avaholic

Where do I start with the alien being that is Lee Jung Hyun? She has assumed many forms over the course of her stay on earth, from futuristic android to tribal queen and during promotions for her last album (Avaholic), a high fashion "Vogue girl." Lee Jung Hyun is the so-called "Lady Gaga of Korea" because of her constant shape-shifting and a style all her own (She was even chosen as the opening act for Gaga's "Hello Korea" concert). Her 1999 debut album, Let's Go To My Star, spawned the iconic single "Wa", the song she is probably most recognized for. She deals primarily in dance/techno music, save for the odd foray into Latin music she made with 2004's Passion. I'm guessing she was trying to cash in on the K-Latin fusion trend that was popular for a short period of time.

Anyway, if you look up her album sales you'll notice the steady decline in popularity she endured that likely caused the 3 year hiatus she had before coming back with her first mini-album, Avaholic, in 2009. That's the issue with hitting the ground running like Lee Jung Hyun did. In my opinion she reached her stride with I Natural, during which she was in her previously mentioned "tribal queen" phase. I think she realizes that too because whenever she is asked to appear at events she often chooses to perform singles from that era. I enjoy every track on I Natural, thus it's my favorite of everything she's released so far. Lately she's been focusing on her acting career, so it's hard to say when we can expect new music from the extraterrestrial techno queen.

Since there's no "Best of" collection that I know of, I've collected a select few of my favorite songs. In no particular order:
Most of those are linked to their respective music videos if they have them. Part of what initially attracted me to Lee Jung Hyun is her stage presence and persona so check out some of her live performances as well.
