Whilst my laundry is drying..

I've been fairly busy this week, meaning there is little time is left for bloggin'. All I have in me at the moment is a short rant on why I've had to play catch-up over the past few days. Here goes...

I'm taking a multimedia class this semester ("Activating Digital Space", whatever the fuck that means). The class is split into two parts, a 3D modeling/rendering lab and a lectured-based portion dealing with interactive media. Three books are required, one of which is written by the professor. Well, when I took a trip to the campus bookstore that first week of school, none of said books were in stock. How could the bookstore not have enough books for a class of 30? Turns out our professor forgot to email them her book list. Oops! Half of the class was without books, and the other half had ordered them from some other source. The next week, she assures us that the store should have all the books by the end of the week. GREAT, except I had already ordered mine from Amazon and had to wait a few business days before I got my books. Now it's two weeks later and I'm barely getting to the shitton of reading and summarizing that is required for the course. But wait, there's more!

So last night I attempted to do ALL two weeks of reading and summarizing in one sitting, I wanted it out of the way and out of the back of my mind. For almost 4 hours I sat at my dining room table, speed-reading, highlighting, and posting summaries of each chapter online. After reaching a halfway point, I decided to check out some of the other student's summaries. MY summaries were 4-5 paragraphs, each praising the chapter's finer points and detailing the supporting facts. THEIR chapter summaries were 4-5 SENTENCES long and were excrement in comparison to mine. Excrement! I was also posting mine in the wrong area of the class message board, but that really isn't such a big deal because the instructor can still find them.

Needless to say, I had seriously overdone it. After throwing a small bitch fit to a friend over the phone, I realized that it wasn't so bad. I was showing up all those lazy fucks who have had their books since week one. They had all that time to write up insightful chapter summaries, while I only had a couple days.

I'm not done yet, I still have a couple hours to to put in before I'm all caught up, but I feel a lot better about the situation than I did last night. Alright I'm done, I have to go fetch my clothes from the dryer.
