"You are my Boo-oo!" squeals IU throughout the first single from her first full-length album "Growing Up." I thought I was done with bubblegum KPop, honestly. After Gee(SNSD) and Honey(Kara), I was fairly sure the influenza had passed. But I just couldn't help myself, the cutesy 80's inspired tune perfectly sets off the draw of Summer. This song poops rainbows, it's that sweet.
Not everyone is as taken with it as I am. Apparently IU is too good for this shit. She debuted with a different image, a more ballad-type style. I'm not one for pop ballads, Korean or English, so I'm not going to bother posting the song here. To save you the trouble, she definitely has the chops to do something better than "Boo." But I could care less, I like my KPop disposable.
Also, she recently performed a short, acoustic cover of Gee that's pretty cute:
