Oh Yes I Did

I'm almost done with ONTD. I honestly don't understand why I joined them in the first place, because it's certainly not for the gossip. I have a few theories as to why I, as a straight male, might be interested in a community like ONTD. 1.) I enjoy reading the comments, as it gives me an insight into the minds of the celebrity obsessed. 2.) It gives me a chance to show off all the Winston icons I've made. 3.) I enjoy leaving comments like "What a fucktard", on accounts of dumb celebrities. 4.) There's always something to read because they update almost every 5 minutes.

But lately, the "stan" wars between Beyonce/Britney/Christina/Lady Gaga fans have been getting out of hand. At first their little arguments were entertaining, in an omg-look-at-what-this-idiot-wrote kind of way. Now it seems every other post is about one of the celebrities I listed, with it's accompanying page-long thread of people defending/attacking the particular celebrity. I could just ignore those posts, yes, but I almost inevitably click on the comments link anyway and spend 5 minutes reading about how "Lady Gaga is a tranny bitch", or that "Britney Spears is LEGEND." I want to shout "WHO FUCKING CARES?" Then I realized that they care, ONTD cares, and ultimately that's why I don't fit in. I think I'll just check in less frequently than I have been, and maybe post some Amy Sedaris news when the time arises.
