It's gotten to the point that I actually feel guilty about neglecting this blog. It's as if the "Blogger" bookmark is silently judging me when I click on its more popular neighbors, "Myspace" and "The Sneeze". Anyway, I've realized that I need to stop feeling like I have to be funny and entertaining in every post. Some days I'll think, "I should blog this when I get home", and then decide against it because I don't think it's interesting and or funny enough. But as the title of this post declares, it's time I get back to basics. By gum, if I feel like blogging about the sandwich I made this afternoon, I will do so! That being said, let me touch on some things have been happening during the on and off hiatus that SeeSteeleBlog has been going through the last couple weeks or so.

-I have officially started college life. According to television and movies, I will be spending the next four years taking bong hits, going to keggers, and cramming for insanely difficulty exams.
- The "these are the best years of your life" cliche that I thought I had escaped from is back again, only now it is college instead of high school. I wish people would make up their mind.
- I have determined that joining a fraternity is out of the question, seeing as how I could never muster enough school spirit to fit in. Other factors include my inability to yell/chant with any sort of passion, and my lack of interest in group activities. During orientation, one of our group leaders spouted, "To be part of a fraternity, is to be part of something larger than yourself." If I want that kind of solidarity, I'll join the army.
- In comparison to the other kids I've seen around, I look like a twelve year old. Growing a beard is now in my four year plan.
- I've been trying to keep it healthy, so as not to gain the "freshman fifteen", but it's hard when the cafeteria is already serving pizza and corn dogs at ten in the morning.
