I guess this is a follow up for the Pokemonaholic post. I had listed a couple things that I've collected over the years, and I forgot to post a picture of my most recent find:
I nabbed this sometime around the end of December, beginning of January. It was the last day my friend Alexander was going to be here in Albuquerque, so we decided to squander some change at the arcade. We both spent the first 1o minutes playing games like "Time Crisis", and "Deep Sea Explorer" and soon grew bored of the limited gaming facilities. We then realized that some sort of reward, or prize would most likely make things a little more exciting, and moved on to the sort of games that induce early gambling addictions. You know, the ones where the object is to tip the pile of coins into the collecting bin in exchange for tickets. After trying a couple out, we hit the jackpot with what seemed like a faulty machine. We won so many times that one of the arcade attendants had to change the roll of tickets. As we stood in line to cash in our tickets, I looked at polaroids of past "big winners" tacked up on the wall. Some cradled 6ft teddy bears, while others hugged big neon boom boxes, but all with goofy grins of victory, satisfaction, POWER. Would Alexander and I be the latest additions?
Unfortunately, we were not. But that was all made up for once I saw the above Pokemon figurines. I guess Alexander had seen the tremendous Pokemon lust I had in my eyes, because he generously allowed me to spend most of our earnings on them. It's been hanging up in my closet, like some fishing trophy, ever since. What I really want to do with them is put them on my desk, but that would require me to free them from their plastic enclosure, and I'm still a little hesitant to do so. That's why I've set up a little poll in the sidebar, to the right of this post, so you can help me decide. Thanks for voting!
